How do I get a Norwegian phone number?

If you're trying to create a Time2Staff account and SMS verification isn't working with your current number, getting a Norwegian phone number can solve the issue. Here's how.

Option 1: Prepaid SIM card (fastest option)

You don't need to be a Norwegian resident or have a personal ID number (fødselsnummer/D-nummer) to buy a prepaid SIM. This is the quickest way to get a working Norwegian number.

Where to buy:

Telenor, Telia, or Ice — available in kiosks (Narvesen, 7-Eleven), electronics stores (Elkjøp, Power), and at airports.
Lycamobile or MyCall — budget-friendly options, often available online or in convenience stores, popular for temporary or international use.

What you typically need:

-A valid passport or ID for registration (required by Norwegian law for all SIM cards, prepaid included).
-Some providers let you register and activate the SIM directly in their app.

Option 2: Buy online before arriving in Norway

Some providers (e.g., Lycamobile, MyCall) allow you to order a Norwegian SIM online and have it shipped internationally, so you can activate it before you arrive.

Option 3: eSIM

If your phone supports eSIM, some Norwegian providers offer digital SIM activation without needing a physical card. Check with Telia, Telenor, or Ice for current eSIM availability.

After you have the number

Once your Norwegian SIM is active:

-Open the Time2Staff app or website.
-Start the account creation process again using your new Norwegian number.
-You should now receive the SMS verification code without delay.
