Flexible shifts, fair pay, and full compliance with your rights as a young worker, piloting in Bergen from 1 September 2026

What Is Time2Staff Youth?

Time2Staff Youth opens up flexible work for 16–17-year-olds through the Time2Staff platform. You'll be able to pick up shifts that fit around school and your free time, gain real work experience, and earn your own money, all while being fully protected by the rules that apply to young workers in Norway.

The program is launching as a pilot in Bergen, with room for 100 young staff members to join at the start.

Why Join?
Earn your own money, for things you want, on your own terms.
Get real work experience, something that makes it easier to find jobs later.
Work somewhere fun: restaurants, events, and other exciting workplaces.
Stay flexible, pick up shifts that work around school.
Get paid fast, money in your account within 48 hours of your shift.

What You'll Get Paid

As a 16–17-year-old staff member, your hourly wage is 160 NOK/hour. This is set slightly lower than the standard adult rate, in line with the pricing structure approved for the pilot, but it's real pay for real work, paid out quickly.

What Jobs Can You Work?

At launch, you can pick up shifts as:

✅ Grocery Store Worker
✅ Event Crew

These roles were chosen first because they don't involve alcohol service or require any certifications. More roles, like Kitchen Assistant, Maître d', and some chef positions, may open up later, once the pilot has been evaluated.

Your Rights Are Built Into the App

Time2Staff Youth is built to follow Arbeidstilsynet's (the Norwegian Labour Inspection Authority) rules for workers aged 16–17, automatically:

Maximum working hours: 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week
No shifts after 21:00
Break: at least 30 minutes if your shift is longer than 4.5 hours
Daily rest: at least 12 hours between shifts
Weekly rest: at least 48 hours in a row, every week

The app will automatically block any shift that would break these rules, so you never have to worry about being booked for something you're not allowed to work.

How the Pilot Works

The first phase of Time2Staff Youth is limited to Bergen, with space for 100 staff members. Because it's a pilot, spots are limited and participants are hand-picked by the Time2Staff team from the waiting list, so signing up early gives you the best chance of getting in.

Steps to join:

Sign up on the waiting list.
Time2Staff selects participants for the Bergen pilot.
You'll go through a short onboarding to get set up on the platform.
Once approved, you can start picking up available shifts.
